FAQ
-
Do I need approval for my shed from the city, county, or HOA?
-
Every city and county jurisdiction has building codes and it is the home owner's responsibility to be aware of codes and HOA covenants in their area.
-
Typically, each jurisdiction has shed size and height requirements.
-
Homeowners must be aware of their jurisdiction's setback codes which is the distance from the property line.
-
If a permit is required or HOA approval is needed, then it is the homeowners responsibility to pull the permit with the appropriate jurisdiction's building department and to obtain approval from their HOA. Fredz Shedz can assist in the process.

-
Does the shed's location need to be prepared in any way?
-
No preparation needed.
-
Every shed is carefully built on 2x6 floor joists set on solid cement blocks.
-
If the ground is significantly uneven, then 4x4 posts may be used with cement piers.
-
-
If a cement slab is desired, then the homeowner is responsible for hiring a cement contractor. The slab should be the same size as the shed to prevent water seeping into the structure. It is important that the concrete slab be level, square, and each side straight.
-
Every location must have a 2 foot clearance around the shed.
